Why Wouldn't You Wear A Hat? 2/4 – Life In The City

Last week we took a hatted holliday wearing a 20s style cloche hat. It was glamorous. It was wonderful. And it was dreamy. Surely, a holliday style has never been so fabulous. In other words that is the power of a beautiful hat. So, let's continue the story of a hat...

Today we're flying home from the sunny getaway to our dutiful and occasionally rainy everyday lifes. Or, for our delight, we will not land on just "any everyday life". Namenly, we will land on the streets of Paris because we, or maybe I should say: I like to imagine to be French. Wouldn't it be just so much more fantastical if you lived in Paris! Gosh, even speaking would appear so much more magical in french. I mean, even bonjour sounds like poetry, don't you think?

In fact, (now that I think about it, but more so, now that I started to talk about it) not only Paris but any big, ancient European city would make a fine and life changing landing point. What a solemn occasion would it be to live in a middle of old, fascinating cultures, arts and ideas! What a rarity to experience a city as old as the book of history! How unutterably extraordinary to walk the same streets as millions of people before you! These places for me are like gold mines. No, like a lottery win...oh not that... but like...oxygen? NO! Too ordinary. Like...a story you can never get enough of, no matter how well you think you know it, because it's ever changing, yet its spirit stays the same. Thefore, there is endless ways to get inspired, reinvent and rediscover what it means, not only to be a human, but also to be alive in this same world under the same stars.

Life In The City...

A CITY THAT MANAGES TO SURVIVE THROUGH TIMES AND STILL REMAINS RELEVANT, INTERESTING AND, SOMEHOW, UNCHANGED IS AN EVERLASTING PLAYGROUND OF FASHION AND STYLE. WHICH MEANS, YOU HAVE THE ABSOLUTE FREEDOM TO DRESS, AS THE CITY WON'T PROBABLY GET SURPRISED BECAUSE IT HAS, NO DOUBT, SEEN WORSE.

(OBVIOUSLY, THIS MEANS I AM MANIPULATING YOU INTO WEARING HATS.)

"

However, my opinion is you should wear what the city makes you feel. I know it sound a bit superstitious but most of us have assumptions about places, especially famous places: how they look, smell and sound. For example, if Paris makes you feel like wearing all black with gold accessories and a white, fluffy hat, then maybe you should wear that. So, the next time you get dressed think of a place that makes you excited for the possibility to be there.

"

"City of stars

Are you shining just for me?

City of stars

There's so much I can't see

Who knows?

I felt it from the first embrace I shared

with you

That now our dreams

May finally come true"

– City of Stars by Justin Hurwitz (La La Land)

Thank you so much for reading!
